Coming Soon ...
March 8, 9, 10th - Missouri State Beekeepers Association Spring Meeting
The
MSBA Spring Meeting is Coming to St. Louis!
Twice
a year, the fine folks over at the Missouri State Beekeepers Association
sponsor a spring and fall get together, hosting beekeepers from across the state
with presentations from top-notch beekeeping experts. For example, this past
fall we all gathered at Lake of the Ozarks to listen to presentations from Dr.
Marla Spivak and Ed Levi. It's an opportunity that you just don't want to miss!
This
spring, the MSBA is bringing its show to St. Louis! That's right. You can leave
your gas card in your wallet because the MSBA is coming to town! We should all
take advantage of this rare opportunity to meet other beekeepers from across the
state and listen to top-notch presentations from the experts.
The
spring meeting will be held this coming March 8th, 9th and
10th at the St. Louis Marriott West, just off I-64 in Chesterfield.
In addition to all the beekeeping vendors on hand, we'll listen to presentations
from such notables as Jerry Hayes, Dr. Greg Hunt, Dr. May Berenbaum and David
Burns, just to name a few.

March 11th - St. Clair Beekeepers Association - Boil Out
Our local Bee Inspector,
Eleanor Balson, will be hosting a bee equipment "Boil-Out" get
together this coming Sunday, March 11th. Below are the details from
Eleanor:
Chuck Leitner crafted two beautiful boil-out barrels with welded
stands and fantastic handling tools. He donated these to the association. We'll
give them their first use on Sunday, March 11th at the Mills Apple Farm, 11477
Pocahontas Rd. in Marine. Dale Black will be supplying the lye, and will be
explaining the process of boiling equipment.
This is a drop-in, all day event starting at 9am, lasting until 4pm.
All are welcome. This is a casual potluck - Eleanor Balson will be providing
sandwiches and would welcome other goodies.
The boil-out barrels will be set up within easy view of the parking lot, beside
the pavillion.
Hope to see you.
Please feel free to come on out to Mills Apple Farm on Sunday, and stay all day,
or as long as you wish. This should be a fun, informative day. Bees
living in clean, sterile equipment make for happy and healthy bees. Stop
on by and see how it's done, and help Eleanor break in the wonderful equipment
Chuck Leitner generously donated to the St. Clair Beekeepers Association!
See you all on Sunday!
